Listen to the full episode to hear my comeback episode on where I’ve been:
I’m back, friends! I’d like to attribute my absence to taking a break for the summer to relax, travel, and enjoy the sun, but that wouldn’t be the truth. I always strive to be open and honest with you all, so that’s exactly what I’m going to do. In my comeback episode, I’m going to explain my absence, what I’ve learned about myself, and how my story can help you.
It’s never one thing that broke the camel’s back, it’s a combination of a lot of little things. This has never been more true for me. The explanation for my absence is complex and personal that includes a lot of events that have led to transitions in my life, which have then resulted in a process of healing and understanding. After taking a deeper look into myself, I now have the tools to be a better version of myself. After listening to this comeback episode, I encourage you to pause and listen to yourself if you too need a break.
Stay tuned for next week’s episode where I jump back into providing you with engaging literacy content and educator-specific episodes!

Do you find yourself seeking new implementations when it comes to literacy instruction? Do you crave fresh ideas and engaging lessons to transform your students into skilled readers and writers? The Literacy Dive Podcast was created to provide educators, like you, with actionable steps and strategies to improve teaching reading and writing.
Your host, Megan Polk, is the creator and owner of The Literacy Dive, a company that creates educational, literacy curriculum that aims to close the gap and support children in reaching mastery. Being a literacy specialist and having over a decade of teaching grades K-5, Megan knows the power of collaboration and working alongside teachers and parents to provide them with the support, confidence, and resources they need to meet students where they are.
Dive in each Monday as Megan and her guests unpack an element of literacy or various topics relatable to educators. Here are some topics covered in this literacy podcast: writing strategies, reading comprehension, the writing process, the science of reading, and small group instruction.
